No parent is prepared to learn their child has cancer. That’s why Children’s Cancer Connection is here to help you navigate the road ahead. While many great organizations are working to find a cure for the disease afflicting more than 13,500 children each year in the United States, Children’s Cancer Connection strives to provide care following a cancer diagnosis. We provide opportunities to encourage relationships and strengthen community to over 600 families. Whatever twists and turns you encounter as you adjust to your new normal, you can always count on one thing: Children’s Cancer Connection is dedicated to supporting you the entire way.
GONE VIRTUAL - Camp Heart Connection Sibling Camp
***Due to health concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic, Oncology Camp 2020 has been cancelled. Instead we will have Oncology and Sibling Camp virtually in August. Please see August calendar for Virtual Camp Registration.***
Sibling Camp provides siblings of children with cancer the opportunity to be the stars of their own week. We hear from siblings that they are often put on the “back burner” as the child with cancer receives a lot of attention, and so Sibling Camp is their opportunity to come back in the spotlight. Sibling Camp is also a place to share feelings about being shuffled among relatives as parents find ways to be present for the child with cancer. Finally, Sibling Camp is a safe place for bereaved siblings to meet other kids coping with the same thing.
Children’s Cancer Connection was one of the first organizations to recognize that brothers and sisters of children with cancer have their own special needs. Each summer over 250 siblings attend their own special week of camp.
