Shannon Schwery has served on the Children’s Cancer Connection Board of Directors since 2021 and is a member of the Finance Committee.
“I knew of CCC and had heard about their mission in the past, but I really only knew about Oncology Camp. When I explored joining the Board, I could tell that it was a rapidly growing organization and I wanted to learn more,” Shannon said. “I was impressed to learn that there were also many programs designed to support and connect siblings and parents of oncology patients throughout the year.”
By day, Shannon is a part of the team at American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company. She said she enjoys continuing to learn about and support the more than 60 programs CCC offers each year.
Shannon looks forward to continuing her work with CCC as the Board and staff work to grow and reach even more families across the state of Iowa.
“Staff really cares about going above and beyond for the families they serve,” Shannon said. “It’s an honor to work with an organization which supports the entire family through the entire journey such as CCC does with families affected by childhood cancer.”
