“Camp the Night Away” in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 6

Children’s Cancer Connection will host Camping the Night Away Cedar Rapids on Thursday, Oct. 6. The signature Eastern Iowa fundraising event for CCC’s free camp programs will take place at The HarMac in downtown Cedar Rapids. It will feature a delicious line-up of food, cocktails, a silent auction, music and incredible raffles. Eight-person tables and individual tickets are available. Individual tickets are $40. The cost to reserve a table of eight is $400.
Proceeds from this event and its auctions go to CCC’s Camp Heart Connection, a magical space in which Iowa children and families affected by childhood cancer can connect, grow and create lifelong memories. It costs CCC roughly $500 to send each camper to the camps, as participants attend entirely for free. Camps offer fun traditions such as Wish Night, tie-dye, horseback-riding, creek stomping and more. Children diagnosed with cancer and their siblings can attend these camps at which they can be surrounded by other kids going through similar journeys and just have fun!
The Camping the Night Away silent auction opens Oct. 3 at 8:00 a.m. and is available online regardless of bidder location. Event attendance is not required, however, items will be present to browse in-person at the event. Bidders can try to win two tickets to the Nov. 13 Kansas City Chiefs football game vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, a photography session with AP Film & Photo or a package from Iowa love featuring a long sleeve shirt, dish towel and hat.
Register for the event or sign up for the silent auction!
