As CEO, Jennifer helps lead Children’s Cancer Connection in fulfilling its mission to connect and care for families affected by childhood cancer. She works directly with volunteers, staff, and board members to promote the work of CCC in the community and build relationships that help further our mission.

Sarah Jungers, Director of Donor Engagement

Sarah connects donors to the programs and events at CCC to help them impact families affected by childhood cancer. She oversees development, events, and donor relations, traveling across the state as needed.

Favorite Children's Cancer Connection program or event? All of our Fundraising by Friends events. There’s nothing more inspiring than seeing groups so passionate about supporting CCC with their events!
When she isn't working you can find her... spending time with her family, doing photography, something outdoors (golfing, hiking, kayaking, boating), reading, watching movies, or building wooden furniture and signs.

Lily Scott, Marketing Director

Lily is responsible for overseeing and executing the marketing communications efforts for CCC, including social media, emails, print materials, graphic design, and more to help keep families, donors, and volunteers connected.
Get to know Lily:
Favorite Children's Cancer Connection program or event? Before joining CCC as an employee, Lily had been involved with CCC as a family member. She thinks all of the support and programming that CCC provides for the entire family is phenomenal. No other organization puts as much time and effort into being there for families affected by pediatric cancer as CCC does.
When she isn't working you can find her... Probably reading, but almost definitely snuggling with her kids and at least one of her many pets.

Jourdan Reed, Camp Director

Jourdan helps create amazing opportunities for children and their families affected by childhood cancer to connect and grow together. She plans and schedules all of the Camp Heart Connection programs, as well as the Teen and LIT programs. She also serves as the main contact for the hospital regarding our My Journey Series program.

Favorite Children's Cancer Connection program or event? She admits she is probably biased, but her favorite CCC program is CAMP! Teen programs are a close second!
When she isn't working you can find her... spending time with her husband Conar and doing anything that involves being crafty (i.e. quilting, crocheting, wood-burning, painting, drawing, etc.). She also dabbles in video games and board games such as World of Warcraft, Dungeons and Dragons, Animal Crossing, Pokémon, etc.

Matthew Johnson, Donor Engagement Manager

Matthew communicates with donors, both individual and corporate, to help align their charitable giving with the various CCC programs. Being on the development team, his role also includes finding new fundraising opportunities, securing sponsorships and programmatic support, and helping with CCC’s fundraising events.

Favorite Children's Cancer Connection program or event? Day Camp because he was able to assist multiple times as a counselor during the summer of 2019. Seeing kids interact with each other while having fun at the Hansen Home for Hope was so inspiring to see CCC’s mission at work.
When he isn't working you can find him... in Waukee with his wife, Maureen, and baby daughter, Nora, who was born October 1, 2020. They also have a goldendoodle named June who they take on many walks. His hobbies include home improvement/yard projects, spending time at the lake, and being outside whenever possible.

Trent Meyer, Accounting & Office Manager

Trent manages the accounting, office, and business needs of Children’s Cancer Connection.

Favorite Children's Cancer Connection program or event? Definitely Camp (but he says he is biased because he hasn't been in the Des Moines area to participate in the other programs yet).
When he isn't working you can find him... spending time outside, going to the lake, fishing, wake surfing, hiking, staying active. Otherwise, he's usually spending time with friends or playing video games.

Christina McCleary, Events Manager & Development Coordinator

Christina oversees all of our internal fundraising events like Camping the Night Away and Go Gold and Golf, and also partners with third-party Fundraising by Friend Events that support CCC. She loves hearing why people choose to support CCC and what makes this organization special to them.
Get to know Christina:
Favorite Children's Cancer Connection program or event? Camping the Night Away because it’s unlike other galas and is a lot of fun! Her favorite program is Day Camp because there are lots of fun kids in the house and it gives her an excuse to be away from her desk.
When she isn't working you can find her... in her kitchen. She makes all sorts of delicious meals and desserts to share on her blog Sugar, Spice, and Iowa Nice. She also enjoys traveling to new places and spending time with her husband, Scott, and puppy, Tilly.

Bailey Moore, Family Programs Coordinator

Bailey creates amazing experiences for children and their families affected by childhood cancer. She plans and schedules events for the families at the Hansen Home for Hope, as well as throughout central Iowa. She also serves as the main contact for both hospital communication and welcoming new families to CCC.

When she isn't working you can find her... snuggled up on her couch with her family watching movies and eating take-out. Bailey and her husband also enjoy taking their spunky yellow lab named Georgia to parks, as well as taking the kids out for drives through the countryside.

Hannah Evans, Development Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator

Hannah is responsible for recruiting, coordinating, and supporting all of the amazing volunteers at Children’s Cancer Connection. Additionally, Hannah also assists the Development Team with various needs at CCC.

Favorite Children's Cancer Connection program or event? Hannah hasn’t yet gotten a chance to participate in any of the programs or events that CCC offers, but she is most excited to see what Camp Heart Connection camps are all about!
When she isn't working you can find her... spending time with her husband, daughter, and rescued mastiff mix. She also enjoys binging the latest Netflix docuseries, attempting to cook a new recipe, and exploring Des Moines with her friends.
